Build a B2B(Business to business) portal in Pakistan

Greetings,

With the e-commerce industry booming all over the world, Pakistan is also gearing up to stand as a strong market for online business. Being approved on Amazon’s list to directly do business is a huge opportunity knocking at the door. Not only this, working with Pakistan’s online store, Daraz, is a good earning opportunity for everyone who wants to build an online business.

The main problem faced by people doing online business is ‘Sourcing’. To do business on Daraz, or even through social media platforms, for sourcing any product the option is to go physical and wander wholesale markets or source it directly from China. Both the possibilities are tiring as the former is the hassle of going to places and one is only limited to a certain city, whereas the latter needs time, the product has to be bought in super-bulk quantity, paperwork needed for import and moreover, there is no transparency from the sender’s end, at least that is what many startups have faced.

With the major cities of Pakistan being rich in trading as well manufacturing products, the aim is to serve as a bridge between b2b business. Since many products are manufactured in Pakistan in different cities but people are unaware of it, similarly, many importers source products from international markets in super bulk quantity, so it’s better buying from them rather than going through the hassle of sourcing ourselves in big quantity. Of course, now the option is there to buy in small quantity but the delivery cost incurred as well as buying in small quantity the rates vary.

Our solution for this is to list all the wholesalers in one place and the retailers can buy in bulk to do online business or even do business internationally. For example, take garments industry, Faisalabad is well known for garments, ladies clothing is micro-niche to this, if we gather all the garments manufacturers under one website, any retailer sitting in the district of Punjab can shop and source from there, he/she can even target selling internationally, it is an ease to get the sample check, payment flexibility locally, and with the help of courier companies, fast delivery ensured. Moreover, it would encourage more people especially women to go online and do business.

Just like the garments industry, we have other niches where this website and/or mobile applications would be a big problem solver for sourcing. Kitchen items, cosmetics, stationery, decorative items, electronic appliances, are only a handful of examples given, there are many products available waiting to be explored.

Another perspective of this idea is that currently not every manufacturer or wholesaler in Pakistan is working online, neither are they working with e-commerce stores. This idea would create opportunities for everyone present in the circle, from the importer sourcing from the international market to the shopkeeper in wholesale markets to the retailers dealing in small quantities.

To end this proposal I would just like to say is that an individual cannot cover all the aspects of this circle alone, I aim at creating a link where everyone gets their share of hard work and collectively strengthen the industry and hopefully brings a viable solution to this problem.

I may still have lost some words in explaining the idea, but if given a chance can show a bigger picture of this and explain it better in person.

Regards.
